This is a Hong Kong-headquartered manufacturer of consumer-goods related products supported by production facilities across the world. They are a portfolio company of a large well-known private equity fund.
The Group Financial Controller will report directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for leading the financial accounting, reporting, and control functions across the Group. This is a key leadership position, with a focus on driving financial discipline, enhancing transparency, and ensuring that the financial operations align with the company’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
Group Financial Control
Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensuring compliance with local regulations and private equity investors’ requirements.
Oversee the external audit process and ensure timely completion of audits and tax filings.
Monitor the integrity of financial data across all subsidiaries and ensure financial processes are streamlined and efficient.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure the appropriate controls and compliance are in place.
M&A Support
Provide financial due diligence and post-acquisition integration support for mergers and acquisitions as the company grows through inorganic expansion.
Work with the private equity firm and management team on financial modelling and valuation exercises during the acquisition process.
Tax and Treasury Management
Oversee the company’s tax compliance, ensuring tax filings are accurate, timely, and in compliance with relevant jurisdictions.
Manage the Group’s treasury function, optimizing cash flow, managing working capital, and ensuring adequate funding for operational needs.
Collaborate with the CFO on managing the capital structure and exploring financing opportunities.
Stakeholder Management:
Provide financial updates to the private equity sponsors and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Serve as a key liaison between the financial team and business unit leaders, helping to translate financial results into actionable business insights.
Leadership and Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Ensure the team’s skill sets are up-to-date with the latest financial reporting requirements, technology, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Qualified CPA
Minimum of 15 years of experience in financial control, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
Experience in the manufacturing or apparel industry is a plus but not mandatory
Proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
Knowledge of ERP systems and financial software in the context of M&A and integration
Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including post-acquisition integration a plus
