The Project

The Barton Partnership was engaged to transform the central functions of a business services company and set it on a path to growth. The geographic scope of work was the UK, Republic of Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Poland.

The Problem

The growth of a PE-backed business services firm was being constrained by their back office that lacked efficiency and effectiveness in Finance, HR and their ERP and core systems.

Scope & Outcome

The scope of the work included the transformation of:
  • Finance: including reducing outstanding debt to 30 days from 90+ days
  • ERP systems: including defining the requirements, vendor selection, contract and deployment
  • HR: including the building of a central HR team and implementing HR business partnering
  • Technology: leadership of a programme to overhaul the principal core operational system
  • Corporate Development:  creation, testing and roll-out of an integration playbook to speed up the integration of new acquisitions
  • Tracking: measuring the business impact of the transformation throughout the execution phase
