A growth-driven Fintech company is seeking an Interim Data Engineer to join their team. With state-of-the-art new offices in London, and the ability for hybrid working, this is a great opportunity to join a well-established yet growing Private Equity backed Fintech firm, with a focus on payments.
The role requires a candidate with Data Engineering expertise to enhance data capabilities during an exciting growth phase. This will include collaborating with cross-functional teams and technical stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines, leveraging Azure and Databricks platforms. This is a hands-on role that demands a deep technical understanding and a passion for extracting insights from data.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration of a high-growth smaller FinTech business the client is acquiring, including the implementation of a data warehouse and data lake.
Design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and developers to gather data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Leverage Azure and Databricks to facilitate efficient data processing and analysis.
Ensure data quality, security, and compliance in all data operations.
Troubleshoot data-related issues and implement effective solutions.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
Proven track record as a Data Engineer, preferably within the fintech/payments industry.
Strong expertise in Azure services, particularly Azure Databricks.
Proficiency in data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modelling.
Programming skills in languages like Python and SQL
Familiarity with data visualisation tools, such as Power BI or Tableau.
Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferences:
Experience in the implementation of data engineering solutions within mobile app environments.
Knowledge of private equity-backed organizational dynamics and priorities.
Ability to work autonomously and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
