The Barton Partnership has been retained for the Director of Strategic Projects role at a leading multinational business undergoing an exciting period of transformation. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the newly appointed CEO and Chief Strategy Officer to shape the company’s long-term direction. As the company resets its strategy, you will be at the forefront of driving key strategic initiatives and helping to accelerate its growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development:
Lead the creation of medium-term improvement plans for several business units, using rigorous analysis to drive impactful outcomes.
Project Execution:
Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to translate strategic plans into actionable projects.
Project Delivery:
Oversee the successful execution of these projects, ensuring regular progress updates are communicated to the CEO and senior leadership team.
Exposure to Senior Leadership:
This role offers exceptional visibility and the chance to directly influence the strategic direction of the business, with opportunities for career progression into more commercial or operational roles in the future.
Required Skills:
Consulting Experience:
Experience at a strategy consulting firm (e.g., Senior Engagement Manager or transitioning to Associate Partner), or equivalent experience.
Strong Communication Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to distil complex discussions into clear, concise, and insightful presentations.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
A natural problem-solver, passionate about addressing complex business challenges.
Project Management Expertise:
Proven experience in managing projects from start to finish, with a track record of delivering results.
Financial Acumen:
A solid understanding of financials, including the ability to interpret P&Ls.
Excel Proficiency:
Capable of building basic models in Excel and working with data to inform decisions.
Relationship-Building Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, from the shop floor to the boardroom.
Proactive and Results-Oriented:
A hands-on mindset with the drive to take ownership of tasks and ensure their successful delivery.
