Ian Copsey

Ian leads the EMEA Economics, Disputes & Compliance Function for The Barton Partnership and is also a member of our global Professional Services practice. He is well networked throughout Europe and the Middle East having successfully supported a range of businesses across numerous geographies, practices, and sectors.

Having joined the firm from Russell Reynolds Associates, where he was a member of the Corporate Officers practice focused on senior leadership mandates across Legal, Regulatory, Compliance and Risk; Ian brings search, assessment, and advisory expertise from a Tier-1 global search firm. Ian is used to working closely with the C-Suite and Board Members of corporate clients in relation to a range of appointments including CCO, CRO, CLO and GC.

Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Ian was the EMEA Disputes lead within the Legal & Financial Advisory practice of a well-known global boutique executive search and advisory firm. He conducted Partner-level searches, team lifts and office launches across EMEA for Consulting firms, Law Firms and Corporates. Ian is therefore used to being at the forefront of running multi-partner search campaigns and market intelligence reports across multiple regions. Given Ian’s network and track record, he brings a unique perspective and approach to the market.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys travelling with family and friends, as well as being a keen supporter of Harlequins FC.
